The work that the children in Rec KW completed today was ‘Out of this World.’ They used their superb blending skills to read and follow the instructions to make their own flying saucer. They thought carefully about what a flying saucer might have on it and who might be flying it. Some of them decided it would be aliens but some decided that it would be astronauts. Tomorrow we will be writing a recount of how we made them.
**NEW** Weekly class attendance initiative!
Your child will get a raffle ticket every day they attend school. They will write their name on the raffle ticket and place it in their class attendance bowl.
Every Friday, I will pick a name from the class attendance bowls and the winner from each class can chose a prize! If the weekly class attendance is above 96% then another winner will be chosen. A 3rd winner will be chosen if the class has 100% attendance!!!
The more days your child attends school the better chance they will have of winning!
Good luck everyone!
Thank you for your support
Mrs White
Look out for the winners every Friday!!!
We managed to raise £157 for Children In Need.
Thank you for you generosity.
Year 6 have enjoyed creating art work in the style of Andy Goldsworthy. The children were very creative and managed to make some beautiful masterpieces using natural materials collected in the school grounds!
We had to work as a team to hoist our teammates to safety. Well done to the team who showed creativity, teamwork and perseverance to complete the mission.
Year 5 and 6 pupils have enjoyed taking part in a virtual event about occupations hosted by Primary Futures. The children met an Architect, an Aircraft Accident Investigator and an IT Global Program Manager. They had fun asking questions and using clues to guess the job of each person. The session was very informative and broadened children’s horizons around the world of work. All of the pupils have been inspired to think about what career they might enjoy when they are older!
Take a peek at our fabulous rainforest reading area ready to transport our year 5 children to other worlds or fill their minds with knowledge.
Another top secret mission!
Year 3 had another great session where they worked on developing their co-operation skills. They had great fun too.
As part of the work we are doing in school to support mental wellbeing, today we started our Relax Kids sessions. All children will be taking part in a series of lessons to help them to develop strategies to deal with anxiety, stress, anger and promote resilience. Claire from Relax Kids is an expert in her field and loved working with our children today. Look out for some of the photos from the sessions.
