Reading
Reading is extremely important to learning in school and is a fantastic life skill. The school use the Accelerated Reader scheme and all children are heard read by an adult at least once every week. It is extremely important that children bring their reading books in every day. Children also have access to our class and school libraries to enjoy a variety of texts.
Homework
Year 3 & 4 homework consists of reading, spellings and times tables. I may leave other tasks to complete throughout the year on Google Classroom.
Children should read every day at home for 10/15 minutes. Reading books are to be brought back into school daily.
Spellings are learnt in school over the week and are available on Spelling Shed for pupils to learn at home. The Year 3/4 Statutory Spelling list has also been shared with you.
TTRockstars has been set for your child to work on at home for 5/10 minutes daily.
Codes for TTRS and Spelling Shed can be found on the inside cover of your child’s reading diary.
