December 2025 – Carol Concert
Our school choir took part in a collaborative carol concert for South Tyneside hosted at Temple Park. It was a magical night for the children who got to perform alongside a real orchestra to their biggest crowd yet! The children even performed a solo performance of Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree with a surprise a hand jive half way through. They performed fantastically and Miss Peel was extremely proud of them.
March 2024 – Durham Cathedral
Our year 5 children recently had the opportunity to perform in Durham Cathedral. They worked extremely hard practising the songs for weeks leading up to event and performed fantastically for their parents, guardians and visitors to the cathedral. Their voices sounded amazing echoing around the cathedral!
September 2023 – Clarinet
Some of our children have begun clarinet lessons this month. They are all very excited to be learning a woodwind instrument and we can’t wait to hear the progress they make!
September 2023 – Music technology
Our year 5 class have begun to have lessons in using music technology. They are using Garage Band on iPads to explore sound and they will be working towards a composition involving more than one instrument using this software! We can’t wait to hear the finished product.
July 2023 – Ukulele
Our year 5 class have really enjoyed learning ukulele this term. They have mastered enough basic chords to play together in an ensemble and they did a fantastic job with their rhythmic strumming, showing a good awareness of timing and tempo throughout. Well done year 5!
April 2023 – Choir
Our choir have only been singing together for one term and they went to Blenkinsop Court to sing to the residents, how brave! The residents loved the performance and they’ve asked for us to come back every year.
