To celebrate world book day this year, we all dressed up in our pyjamas for our ‘Bedtime Story’ themed day. We brought in our favourite books from home and shared them with our friends in Book Club. We then did a ‘Blue Peter Book Review’ application for our favourite book. We look forward to receiving our badges later in the year!
We had the best day – WE LOVE READING!
World book day
“It is interesting to find out what other people like to read and you might actually enjoy reading what they have read as well.”
“I like it because it helps kids to understand how reading is fun.”
“I like getting to wear pyjamas to school and sharing my favourite graphic novel.”
“I love the book I brought from home because the character is called Olivia.”
Reading for pleasure
“We all get together and read and it’s really nice to all be reading the same thing because usually we all read different books – we can talk about the books we are all reading.”
“I like reading for pleasure because you get to read new books and new authors.”
“Talking about books is a good way to make new friends,” – (about reading club).
“The library in school is good because you can read and it’s nice and quiet.”
“I like all the different types of books like the rain forest books, the sports books and the poetry books and you can share them with your friends.”
“I like the walls of the library because there are loads of different books on the walls and colours.”
“I like the library because everyone in our school gets to go over and pick a book every week. It’s really fun to go over and find new books.”
“It’s a way you can bring books home and show your family and if you like it you could ask for the book for your birthday or for Christmas.”
