Today our butterflies have emerged from their chrysalis. We are going to watch them for a little while to see how they feed and to look at the lovely colours, then we will let them go.
In Reception we have been practising how to skip with the long rope. Alfie M and Cole in Miss Waugh’s class are the best skippers out of everyone in both classes. They showed lots of resilience, confidence and energy to keep beating how many jumps they could do before they stopped the rope. Both boys were very close to getting to 30! Well done boys!
We won the attendance trophy this week. We were the only class in school to have 100% attendance. Keep it up everyone. Let’s see if we can win it again!
Last Monday a special parcel arrived in Reception. We opened it up and we found some tiny caterpillars. Over the last two weeks they have eaten lots of food, grown considerably in size and changed into a chrysalis. Keep checking back to see when the butterflies emerge. The children are very excited! ![]()
In Reception we have been learning all about jungles. This week we have been pretending that we are jungle explorers. On Wednesday we worked in our groups and thought about what it might be like in the jungle. What we might hear or see, what the weather might be like and what we might do. On Thursday we used those ideas to write our own jungle safari log entries. Miss Waugh was very proud of all of her class for their super work. Some of their writing was exceptional! ![]()
I am very proud of you all!
In Reception we had two very excited children this week when they found out that they had won prizes in the ‘Design a lab coat’ Science competition.
Alfie M in Miss Waugh’s class won two prizes as he won the class prize and second place in the whole school!
Oscar in Miss Dixon’s class won the class prize.
Well done boys. Your designs were fantastic!
