Please see the following government advice regarding coronavirus testing.
The test for people without symptoms of COVID-19 (asymptotic) and children over 11 years old is called a rapid lateral flow test.
If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you need a different test called a PCR test.
If your child is sent home with symptoms of COVID-19 they will need to have a PCR test. All household members will need to isolate until receiving the results. If the test result is negative they may return to school and if the test result is positive they must isolate for 10 days following the government guidelines. Children who are not tested will need to isolate for 10 days before returning to school.
If you have any of these 3 coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms, use this service to get a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test as soon as possible:
*a high temperature
*a new, continuous cough
*you’ve lost your sense of smell or taste or it’s changed
You can order a PCR test kit to be sent to your home or book an appointment at a walk-in or drive-through test site.
