One of our enrichment activities for raising aspirations and challenging gender stereotypes is our to visit Nissan in Sunderland. Here, we had the opportunity to work in production lines to build prototype cars using lego. Furthermore, children had the opportunity to use equipment typically found in the car plant including screwdrivers, panel beaters and drills.
The children enjoyed dressing up in the PPE and learned about the ethos of the Nissan factory, learning about what a day in the life of a Nissan worker would be like. In preparation, for the future the children designed electric cars and explored how they work.
