Nursery had a ‘Polar Express’ event.  Our grown ups bought tickets and came into Nursery with us.  We made Christmas crafts, decorated biscuits, read stories, drank hot chocolate and even wore our pyjamas!  The teachers sold raffle tickets and food as well.  We all had an excellent morning and raised an amazing £105.
Thank you to all of our families for your support!

During enterprise week the children in Reception made their own personalised hand print from salt dough. They did a fantastic job and completed the painting to a very high standard. It was tricky to put the paint in the correct place but everyone showed lots of resilience and kept going. We also drew a picture of ourselves and used them to make our own class calendar. We sold the hand prints for £2 and the calendars for £1.
We also decided to run a whole school competition to guess how many sweets were in the jar. The winning answer was 133 and Miss Cormack guessed correctly.
We made a fantastic profit of £90 and are thinking carefully about how we would like to spend the money.

Year One took part in Christmas craft activities during Enterprise Week. We had a discussion about what the children would like to make and they decided to make Christmas ornaments for their Christmas trees. When we discussed materials and costs, the children decided to use salt dough as it was cheap and easy to make. The children each designed and made their own Christmas tree ornament from salt dough. They then decorated their trees with paint, glitter and ribbons. We also decided to run a whole school competition of ‘Guess the Teddy Bear’s Name.’ Mr. Dunn was the lucky winner of the teddy bear, whose name was Maxwell! Mr. Dunn was extremely happy with his prize and gave it to his grandson, Zachary. In total, Year 1 made a profit of £65.
The children have decided to buy new books, cushions and stuffed animals to enhance their book corner.

Year Two decided to design and make a photo frame to sell at the Christmas Fayre.  We used lolly sticks, glue and sequins and we carefully chose the patterns and colours we would use ourselves.  We worked out how much it would cost to make our frames and how much we would need to sell them for in order to make a profit.  It was a great project to work on because it also really helped us to improve our skills in Design Technology.  We chose a photograph of ourselves from our Nativity performance to display in our frames and we knew that our parents wouldn’t be able to resist buying them!  They were sold out!

We sold our photo frames for £1.50 each and altogether we made £62 profit.

We are excited to decide what to spend it on!

Year Three made sock snowmen for Enterprise Week. We began the week with our Money Sense lesson on coins and notes. We ‘bought’ products from our class shop and added up the totals. We designed our snowmen and thought of the resources we needed to buy. We then made our sock snowmen; one each for the 22 pupils plus 8 more. We hoped to make £2.50 for each sock snowman.

To go with our snowman theme, we made melted snowman biscuits. We sold these for 50p each. We made posters to advertise our made goods. We evaluated our products and then sold them at the Christmas Fayre.
The profit we made was: £94
We wish to buy stickle bricks and magnetic tiles.

Year Three/Four made Christmas Slime! The children had a wonderful and sticky time making glittery and colourful slime. The children had an important job of getting their hands stuck into gloopy glue, making sure their hard work began to bind their slime together, to become a gooey and stretchy work of Christmas enterprise.
We made a profit of £45!

Year Five tested out their sewing skills by creating some monster teddies! We worked hard to design the product first, then carefully sewed them up and glued on the details. We also created some melted snowman biscuits using icing sugar and marshmallows, they were delicious!
We were able to make £44 profit and are excited to decide what it will be spent on.

Year Six made Little Monsters soft toys during DT textiles lessons as part of our enterprise work. We challenged ourselves to use the blanket stitch and added little details to personalise our toys. We then used Natwest Money Sense lessons to plan, design, budget and advertise our profits to create a profit.
We made £60 for our class fund… we can’t wait to decide together what we will spend it on!
